Serving at Burnett is something that we hope comes naturally. Our intention is to create a culture of service in which people try out various ministries as they discover how God has shaped them. Further, we desire that people enjoy serving as they use their talents, time, energy and resources for God’s glory.
There will also be opportunities to serve as a whole church community such as Summer Kids Club and Christmas in the Park. These are two examples where we have over 100 people working side by side to make these absolute amazing events a vessel to show God's love to our community!
Below are short descriptions of some of the ministries at Burnett that you might consider serving in. Some are once a month commitments and some are on a more frequent basis.
Read over them and click the "I'm Interested" to be contacted with more details.
If you do know where you would like to serve or where your talents would be best suited, sign up here and we will help guide you in the right direction.
The key is not to get discouraged, sometimes it takes a few tries to find your fit. Don’t give up – try again because when you find your fit…its AMAZING!
The greeting ministry is an opportunity to meet new people and be such an important part of making a first impression on visitors, give a sense of family to our regular attenders and we are always looking for more team members. If you can commit to just one service a month or on a more frequent basis, we would love to have you part of this team.
We ask that all greeters be at the church at least 30 minutes before the services start.
Counselors are really small group leaders that guide kids through games, activities, and Bible lessons. The main goal for this staff position is to build relationships with the kids. We provide ample training and encouragement...all you have to do is provide the time and the love.
It is our desire to provide a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for the children placed in our care. In doing so, the parents will be able to relax and enjoy the worship service and/or participate in other ministries.
The nursery is divided into two sections of ministry, a toddler side and an infant side. The schedule is created to have workers on both sides, but in the event that there is more need on one or the other side, we hope that you will feel free to help out on the other side than you are assigned.
We ask that as a nursery worker, you arrive in the nursery at least 15 minutes before the service starts to greet the kiddies and their parents.
We are always looking for people to be involved in this ministry. If you are intersted please let us know and we will meet with you and see if you meet the needs we are looking for.
On the first Sunday of every month, there is a team of men and women that go down to Vancouver to hand out sandwich, cloths, and and some kindness. We would love to have you join the team that go down town.
If that is not feasable at this time, we would love for you to join us on the first Saturday night of each month to make sandwiches. We meet in the kitchen and room 132 to make about 1200 sandwiches for the team to take with them.
Being an usher is so much more than handing out bulletins at the beginning of the service or collecting the offering. Being an usher is like being a host at a party seeing needs and taking care of them; answering questions that may arise; having an awareness of all that is happening during the service; and being that final greeter new comers meet before entering into worship. If you have a heart to make people feel comfortable and welcomed into our “home”, then ushering is a great ministry for you.
The usher schedule is on an every other week basis for either the Saturday night or Sunday morning services or both.
We ask that all ushers be at the church at least 30 minutes before the services start.
