Growing Through Galatians - July 15 & 16, 2017

Thirty golden moments is a summer challenge for you to get together with a few people or your whole family and talk about the passage for the week.   It is a great way to be grow in God’s Word during the week, outside of the weekend service. Of course this is not meant to replace daily Bible reading and prayer - but it will help the message to ‘sink in’ to your heart and mind and transform your life into God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will (Romans 12:1-2)!

 Read Galatians 3

Have you ever really needed help with something, then once you got a little bit of it, took over and tried to do the rest on your own? Share your experience? How did it go?

In verse three, Paul asks the Galatians, “After beginning by means of the Spirit, and you now trying you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” If he was asking you; what would you response be?

Paul talks a lot about ‘law’ in this passage. What does he mean by ‘law’? What law is he talking about?

Paul talks a lot about being justified. Pastor Todd taught last week that justified means, ‘declared not guilty on the day of Judgement’.  Based on this passage in Galatians, how was Abraham ‘justified’? How are we Justified?

Why do ‘works’ fall short of being justified?

If by ‘works’ we are not justified, then why was the law made at all? What purpose does it have? (See vs. 18-22)

List some promises in the Bible. How has God met some of those promises? What promises have yet to be completely met? How is God going to meet them? (See vs. 23-29)

The promise of inheritance as Children of God for all who believe in Jesus is for any who would choose it. Knowing this, we need to share it, so that the promise will reach more and more people and they have the opportunity to be saved. How are you going to share this promise to others this week?
