Read Galatians 2:1-10 and Psalm 139
Pertaining to point one:
How does knowing that others have been made by God affect how you treat them?
Do you treat others as wonderfully made by God?
Pertaining to point Two:
What traditions and cultures are part of how you have been shaped?
What traditions and cultures do you see in others around you?
What are some practical ways you can appreciate differences in people in the church?
Pertaining to point Three:
What are some things that you believe God has called you to do?
Has your calling ever been in tension with what someone believes their calling to be?
If so, what are some ways you can resolve the tension like Paul did in Jerusalem?
Pertaining to point Four:
In the meeting in Jerusalem, Paul, Barnabas, Titus, and the ‘three pillars’ leaders, worked out how their culture and calling can work together as uniquely made for God’s purpose for spreading the same gospel. In other words, they were made to deliver the same gospel in different ways to different people.
How can we do that in our lives and in our church? How can we embrace our differences and respect them but be uncompromising in preserving the one true Gospel (Good News)?
