Growing Through Galatians - June 18.17

June 17 & 18, 2017

Thirty golden moments is a summer challenge for you to get together with a few people or your whole family and talk about the passage for the week.   It is a great way to be grow in God’s Word during the week, outside of the weekend service. Of course this is not meant to replace daily Bible reading and prayer - but it will help the message to ‘sink in’ to your heart and mind and transform your life into God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will (Romans 12:1-2)!

Galatians 1:6-7b    I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all.

What do you think ‘other gospel’ means?

Have you seen ‘other gospels’ in school, Netflix, or even religious circles?

What is something you can do to keep yourself from falling for faux gospels?

Galatians 1:10  Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Do you ever find yourself wanting to be a people pleaser? When is that OK and when can it keep you from being a true follower of Jesus?

Ephesians 2:8-10   For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What does this passage tell us about what the true gospel is?

What do you believe are some ‘good works’ God is calling you to do as a result of God’s grace?
